Astrid Santarelli

Astrid Santarelli, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was born in Aal, Norway on March 13, 1945. She grew up in Aal and studied accounting in Oslo. When she was 21, she travelled to America to visit her sister, Kristine Lirhus and work for a year to earn enough to return to Norway but instead, she stayed in America. She worked as a catering manager at Robert’s Catering Service in Burbank, California until 1992 when she left to be a homemaker and raise her son. She also worker in the cafeteria at Grace Lutheran School. Astrid became a United States citizen on September 7, 1995.

Astrid is survived by her husband of 39 years, Kenneth Wayne Santarelli, son; Kenneth Knut Santarelli, 26 of Wallace, North Carolina, and brother; Biggen Rust of Aal, Norway. Dear family members include niece; Sandra, her husband Bruce Helberg and their children Madeline and Liam, nephews; Glenn Lirhus, Terje Rust and daughter Helena, niece; Mette Rust and daughter Kaila. Astrid had a huge heart, gave generously of herself and was deeply loved by all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:30 am at Grace Lutheran Church, Lancaster, California.
