Aubrey Louise Abel

Aubrey grew up in Aurora, IL where she graduated from St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.

Aubrey lived in the Antelope Valley for 62 years. During that time she worked at Antelope Valley Hospital as a lead surgical nurse and later in her career went on to the Los Angeles County Mira Loma Hospital managing the out patient clinical program. Upon retirement, she volunteered at the LA County Sheriff’s Department and Sacred Heart Church in Lancaster, CA.

She is survived by her brother Glenn Keenan of Oxnard, CA, son Charles and his wife Yolanda Abel of Palmdale, CA, son Robert and his wife Diane Abel of Palmdale, CA, daughter Kathie Chapman-Ho and her husband Ron Ho of Cypress, CA, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald A. Abel in November 1993, son Eugene Abel in July 2003, brother George Keenan, and parents Forrest and Emma Keenan of Aurora, IL.

She was a compassionate and generous person to her family and many friends. Aubrey loved Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the building fund of Sacred Heart Catholic Church - 565 W Kettering St. Lancaster, CA 93534.

A viewing will be held at Halley Olsen Murphy on 12/12/17 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm with a vigil from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on 12/13/17 at 12:00pm with an interment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery.
