Barbara passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2022, at the age of 94. Barbara was born on December 4, 1928, to Vincent and Bertha Allen in England. Barbara married the love of her life, Leo Edward Ballman, a serviceman, on April 15, 1953.
As the wife of a military serviceman, Barbara and Leo were stationed in many amazing places such as England, Texas, France, and finally at Edwards Air Force Base in California. Barbara and Leo were very active in their church and the community. They were involved with The Knights of Columbus, Little League, Catholic Daughters, CCD, Eucharistic Ministers, Right To Life, and much more, When Leo retired in 1970, they moved to Lancaster where they continued to be very active at Sacred Heart Church and their community, Leo passed away on February 22, 2009.
Barbara is survived by her six children - David Ballman, Catherine Quessenberry, Michael Ballman, Susan Nesbitt (Bill), John Ballman (Jenifer), and Anne Jameson (Don): her six grandchildren - Timothy Nesbitt (Jessica), Brittany Nesbitt (Anthony), Shannon Nesbitt, Nicole Quessenberry (Chris), Megan Quessenberry, and Adam Jameson(Tiffany): and her five greatgrandchildren- Natalie Nesbitt, Vanessa Nesbitt, Abby Jameson, Emma Jameson, and Lily Jameson. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Leo Ballman, her grandson Christopher Michael Nesbitt, her parents Vincent and Bertha Allen, her sister, Margaret McCauley, and her brother, Francis Allen.
There will be a viewing and rosary on Thursday, January 5th, 2022 from 1 to 5 PM at Halley Olsen. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6th at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 AM followed by the burial at Good Shepherd at 12:00 noon. There will be a reception held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on the same day (January 6th) at 4 PM.
Barbara's family deeply appreciates the kind expressions of sympathy in their time of great sorrow and they thank you all for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.
