On September 24, 2021, Catherine May Hutzler, went into God’s loving hands. Catherine was born May 21, 1931 in Lytle, Texas and married the love of her life, Ralph Hutzler in 1952. September 27 would have been their 69th wedding anniversary.
A resident of Lancaster and member of Sacred Heart Church for 64 years, Catherine loved the Lord and shared this love with the many second and third grade children that attended the Sunday School classes she taught for over 26 years. She served Sacred Heart Church as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Parent Teacher Club, and co-leader of the Prayer Group. In addition, Catherine held offices on the CCD Board, Church Counsel Board, Stewardship Committee, and chaired various fund-raisers for Sacred Heart Church. She also donated her time teaching English as a second language at her home and was employed as a special education teacher in the reading lab at Rosamond Elementary School for 10 years.
In 1983, Ralph and Catherine moved to Bristol England for three years. Over the next 30+ years they traveled to over 100 countries. Catherine was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 12, and great-great-grandmother of 3. Catherine was survived by her devoted husband Ralph Hutzler, her loving children Tim Hutzler (fiancée Jove), Vivian (husband Paul Barcos), Belinda (husband Dave White), and Debbie (husband Gary Carnahan). Family and friends will miss Catherine’s graciousness, beautiful smile, kind soul, and unconditional love and generosity.
