Christopher Resa

Christopher Alan Resa, age 57, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family on August 6, 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. Chris was born on May 2, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas to Ernest and Dolores (deceased) Resa. He attended grade school and junior high school in Palmdale, California, and graduated from Paraclete High School, where he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams, in 1978. Chris married his first wife, Jonelle Worth (deceased) in 1982. On April 3, 2004, Chris married Carol (Manke) Hoskins, who unconditionally loved and cared for him until the Lord freed him from his suffering and called him home. His children, Kristin Frank, April and Ernie Resa, Andy (Sharon) and Katie Hoskins, his father, his brothers Steve, Brian, and Dave, his sister Kathy Fitzgerald (Kevin), and many extended family members, friends, neighbors, and co-workers survive him. In addition, he is survived by his four granddaughters, the lights of his life: Kaylin, Lilly, and Mckenzie Frank, and Kaylee Annabella. Chris was also a beloved uncle to two generations of nieces and nephews in California, Texas, Arizona, and Alaska.

Chris was an avid sports fan, and spent many years playing softball and coaching the youth of the Antelope Valley, from T-ball through high school sports. Throughout his career, Chris worked at Edwards Air Force Base, Northrup, General Atomics, and finally at Kinkishariyo. He was also an active member at Father Serra Parish in Quartz Hill. Above all things, Chris loved spending time with his family and friends, and he made everyone he met feel special and loved. He enjoyed camping and spending time at the beach, and was a loyal fan to the Dodgers. He and Carol cherished the wonderful memories they made during their life together. He was always proud of his country, and he loved aerospace and all things that flew. He was honored to be the son-in-law of John A. Manke, and always carried with him pictures of the planes he had flown.

Chris was the best grandpa ever, and he loved spending time with his granddaughters having tea parties, playing in the sand at the beach, talking to and reading to them, and just sitting with them and making them feel like each one of them was the most important person in the world. Chris loved telling stories, liked to laugh, had an eye for detail, loved great food, was caring and compassionate to all he met, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His beautiful brown eyes and joyful spirit will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
