Christopher Columbus Washington passed on February 14th, 2023 at the age of 78, in Winter Haven, Florida.
Christopher, also known as Cuda Bear, was born on February 10th, 1945 in Delano, California to Mary Lisa Washington of Beggs, Oklahoma and Willie Washington of Tyler, Texas. He was raised in Hanford, California in a town called Home Gardens, where he graduated and learned to be a Mechanic.
He married at a young age to the late Beverly Washington and went on to have 6 children: Michael Washington Senior, Christine Washington, Willie Washington Senior, April Washington, Angela Washington Reed, and Christopher Washington Senior. He was also a proud father of Regina Washington Spencer with Barbara Germany.
He later welcomed his baby boy Chrishawn Washington with his wife Janet Washington and her children: Rondale Watley, the late Craig Watley, Kia Watley, and baby girl Britney Watley whom he proudly cared for as his own.
Christopher moved his family from Hanford, California to the San Fernando Valley in the early 70’s where he would become the town’s well-known leading mechanic for the next 20 years.
He then relocated his family to Lancaster, California, where he began a new skill in home remodeling and landscaping. He grew his skills becoming a successful entrepreneur, running his own business for many years and was given the name COACH.
Christopher was caring, loving, passionate, hardworking, and did not judge anyone. He treated everyone with respect and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was always open to giving chances and opportunities to anyone who wanted to work.
Christopher was saved by Christ at an early age. He walked in his faith at even the most troubled of times.
He loved gardening, fishing, and spending lots of time with his family: laughing, joking and telling stories.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Willie Washington, and his sisters: Martel Johnson, Irene Smith, and Helen Washington.
He is survived by his brother Billie Boy, wife Janet, and his children: Michael, Regina, Christine, Willie, April, Angela, Christopher, Chrishawn, Rondale, Kia, Britney, and lots of grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends that will truly miss him.
