Cleofas Eugene Martinez was born on September 14, 1941 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Cleofas G. and Gertrude Martinez. He passed away on April 5, 2016 in Lancaster, California at the age of 74.
He moved to Ontario, California at an early age and enthusiastically participated in sports (especially football and baseball) throughout his High School and College years. He graduated from Pamona Catholic High School and attended Chaffey College. After College, he served in the Marines then began the career of his dreams – High School teaching and coaching sports at Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, California. In 1982 he came to Paraclete High School in Lancaster, California where he served as Principal for 2 years and then as teacher (mostly Spanish), coach and Dean of Discipline until he retired in 2012.
He is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Cara Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Barbara (Geiser, Adair) Martinez, sister Mary Martinez of Garland, Texas, nephew James Pollock and niece Amy Patterson both of Garland, Texas area and sister Patricia Loudermilk of Ontario, California and nieces Karen Loudermilk, Natalie Hodges, Heidi Cornelison all of Apple Valley, California area and many great nieces and nephews.
He was a man of strong faith, who loved God and his country with a kind, gentle and Humorous spirit and will be missed by many whose lives he enriched.
