Constance Jean Barnes
1929 – 2017
Constance Jean was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on November 10, 1929 to Paul and Helen Doyle. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 8, 2017; just two days shy of her 88th birthday.
Connie grew up in Whitfield, Indiana with three sisters and two brothers. She graduated from St. John’s Catholic Girls High School in 1947. After graduation she worked as a stenographer at Mayflower Transit Company in Indiana and transferred to their Los Angeles office in October, 1948.
Connie married Robert Francis Barnes on April 23, 1949 in Hawthorne, CA and they were married for 65 years before Bob’s passing in 2014.
Bob and Connie moved to the Antelope Valley in 1953 and were blessed to have eleven children. She is survived by all of her children - Ken (Barbara), Kathie (John), Debbie (Grant), Teresa, Peggy, Gary (Diana), Marilyn (Tony), Diana (Pete), Jim, Paula (Brad), Tom (Erin); 36 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Connie was a gentle and devoted wife and mother who loved singing, traveling, flying, the outdoors, and holding her grandbabies. She loved God and her family above all else.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Junipero Serra Parish, 42121 60th St. West, Quartz Hill, CA 93536
