Danny Eugene Stephens entered into eternal peace January 22, 2025 in Palmdale, California. Danny was born March 4, 1948 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Elsworth and Helen (York) Stephens. Danny married the love of his life, MaryBeth Shannon, June 27, 1970 at Sacred Heart Church. They raised three children, Shannon Clasen (Thomas), Natalie Stephens (Mike Steffan), and Daniel Stephens (Janelle). Danny leaves behind his beloved wife and children, his grandchildren Taylor Stephens, Brianne and Kailey Clasen, Ashlyn and Michael Lanza, and Daniel and Allie Stephens, his brothers Rick Stephens and Kenneth Stephens (Janice), along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews – who all loved their “Uncle Dan.”
Danny was a pillar of his family and community. He served on the City of Lancaster Planning Commission, President of the Palmdale Chamber of Commerce, President of the Palmdale Rotary Club, managed the local Safeway stores in Palmdale and Lancaster, and completed his professional career as a long-time insurance agent with Allstate. Danny could always be found on the softball fields with his girls or on the basketball court with his son. When not coaching, he was always in the stands cheering on his kids at Paraclete High School. Danny will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Danny is preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Dolly York, whom he adored, and his beloved parents, Elsworth and Helen Stephens.
A rosary and funeral service will be held at 1:30pm, Friday, January 31, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church, Lancaster, California. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (Timothy 4:7).
