DAVID ALLEN CLELAND
David Allen Cleland, 83, left this earth to be with the Lord on October 7, 2020. He passed after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
David was born in Ashland, Kentucky to Ruth Edna Cleland on March 6, 1937. Prior to David’s high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and went on to have a long, fulfilling career as Aerospace Instrumentation Engineer, which spanned over 55 years.
David loved many things, but nothing more than his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia Cleland, his daughter Lisa Losacco and his son, Chris Cleland, as well as six grandchildren (Kirsten Judge, Christopher Harness, Stephanie Spears, Cole Cleland, Ty Boyles and Kayla Cleland), three great-grandchildren (Tenley, Hudson and Everley) and his beloved dog, Louie.
David was active in church and attended both Palmdale and Lancaster United Methodist Church. He sang in the church choir and with the Happy Singers Choir. David loved playing bridge, working out, playing the guitar, and singing.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him.
A private family service of remembrance will be held on 10/20/2020 at 4pm and will be officiated by Pastor Greg Pittman. David will be laid to rest at the Los Angeles National Cemetery with military honors on 11/17/2020.
