Donald “Don” Curtis Novak of Rosamond CA, died on October 29, 2016 at the age of 55. He passed away peacefully at home under the care of his loving wife and aunt after a 5 year battle with cancer.
Don, son of Lynne and John Novak, was born on the 5th of November 1960 in Salt Lake City Utah. Following in his father’s footsteps, Don joined the Air Force and met his wife at his first station. He retired after 26 years of honorable service and multiple moves across this great country. He will be remembered for his brilliant mind and his capable hands to build and fix most anything. His attention to detail helped him exceed in knowledge about all things including some of his favorites: cars, gardening, fishing, history and all things outdoors. Soft spoken and with a loving heart, he guided and raised 4 children alongside his wife, and further enjoying his 5 grandchildren.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Yolanda Novak; his children: Kristina Gilligan, Jennifer Watkins, Donald Novak Jr., and Julie Novak; his mother, Lynne Novak; father, Don Balcom; brothers, John Novak and Ian Balcom; sisters, Stephanie Nicholson and Elizabeth Balcom; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Novak.
