DR. KANAKESWARAN

Dr. Kanagasabai Kanakeswaran was born on November 4, 1952, in the village of Kuppilan, Jaffna, Sri- Lanka. He passed away peacefully in Lancaster, California on March 3, 2025. Kanakeswaran had a joyful childhood in Kuppilan, growing up alongside his four siblings. He had a love for reading, playing soccer and watching movies. A dedicated student, he excelled academically and achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a physician when he was admitted to medical school at the University of Colombo. He met his wife Shantini during his medical residency and they had a loving and devoted marriage for 44 years. Their journey took them to England, where they pursued further education and practice, and where they welcomed their daughter, Geetha. Eventually, they settled in Lancaster, CA, where he continued his medical career and became a beloved member of the community. His patients deeply appreciated his care and compassion. Kanakeswaran was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Sabesan, his sister Yogeswary. He is survived by his wife Shantini; his daughter, Geetha, his sister, Gnaneswary; and his brother, Kanesan.
