Ode to the Music Box
By Abby Rosales
Oh music box with your extravagant beauty and detail
You etch my soul with comfort
Providing support for all
With the crank of a pin
You elegantly disperse warm tones
Vocalizing the sentimental song of “You are my Sunshine”
Provided by my oh so loving grandma
Your simple brown walls mean so much more
With deep comforting roots in every note played
Custom made with me in mind
Each intricate bolt and screw plucks at my heart
While witnessing the complex ways in which you work
So providing entertainment and deep meaning
You, little music box
Make every inch of me feel cheer.
