Exequiel Pablo Pineda, Sr. was born in Manila, Philippines on April 10, 1943, and grew up with his family in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija. He went to Bongabon Central School. He graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) in 1967. He earned his Masters in Electronics Technology in 1978 at the National Technical Schools in Los Angeles. He worked in various engineering jobs early in his career, and worked for almost 30 years as a Stationary Engineer II for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (Mira Loma facilities in Lancaster, California). He retired in 2008, and since then has been spending time keeping busy at church, traveling with his family, and doing what he loves - fixing and tinkering with cars, computers, electronics, and working on various hands-on projects at home and at church. He was a highly intelligent and very resourceful person whom we all depended upon.
On December 4, 2016, he was with his family when he suffered a second heart attack and then a stroke on December 6, 2016 after an angiogram (cardiac cath procedure). Despite the complications that followed, he fought really hard to get better with the help of his family who never left his side. On Sunday morning January 8, 2017 at 10:43 am at Antelope Valley Hospital, he struggled and fought to live life to the very end. By God's will, he was allowed to rest from all of his labors, pain, and sufferings. He truly fought a good fight.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Erlinda Dale Pineda, eldest child/daughter Jennifer Pineda Dayrit, son-in-law Romeo Dayrit, son Exequiel Pineda, Jr., and youngest son Erl Pineda. He also leaves behind his siblings - Guilliermo Pineda, Yolanda Pineda Nalundasan, and Nimfa Pineda Camacho.
Exequiel was a very down-to-earth, simple, kind, and humble man of faith who loved his family and helped everyone he could. He was a Head Deacon of the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ) since 1984. He devoted his entire life to the Church and his family. He is deeply missed by his family and will forever remain in their hearts and memories.
