Flora (Hammonds) Kramer passed away on October 22, 2015 at the age of 84. She was born and raised in Lancaster, California. Although she moved away her heart was always in Lancaster and considered Antelope Valley her home.
Mom was loved by her family and friends for her kind and gentle spirit and her unshakable faith in her Lord and Savior. Our mom fed every cat in the county, at least once, and an occasional raccoon or two. She was a proud member of the Antelope Valley High School class of 1949. She recently attended her 65th high school reunion. She always looked forward to catching up with old friends.
Mom was a flight operations secretary at Edwards Air Force base during the advent of experimental jet propulsion aircraft. It was not unusual to see Chuck Yeager or Howard Hughes walk through the office.
After starting her family she moved to the Los Angeles area and eventually settled in West Covina in 1967. She then started her life long career as mother to Rebecca, Bert and Charlotte and grandmother to Amy and Nicholas. She is survived by her brother, James Hammonds. Mom was married to Bert Kramer for 60 years. He passed in 2011. We believe, as Christians, they have been reunited and she is now back in his loving arms.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 27th at 1 PM at Lancaster Cemetery District.
