Gary Parks was born on June 9th, 1953, in the heart of Ridgecrest, California. Gary's journey through this world was marked by a profound dedication to service, family, and a tireless pursuit of excellence.
From the halls of Royal High School to the fields where he trained in the US Army, Gary's sense of duty and commitment were evident from a young age. Enlisting in 1972, he embarked on a path of service to his country, demonstrating unwavering dedication and selflessness. His years in the military shaped him into the resilient, disciplined, and principled man we all came to know and admire.
On June 9th, 1973, Gary celebrated not just his birthday, but the beginning of a beautiful union with Donna. Their love story was one of strength, support, and a shared vision for the future. Together, they navigated life's challenges, finding solace and joy in each other's arms.
Gary's dedication to service didn't end with his first discharge in 1975. His re-enlistment in 1976 demonstrated his unshakeable commitment to his fellow soldiers and his country. For four more years, he continued to serve with honor and distinction.
In 1980, Gary transitioned into civilian life, where he brought his unwavering work ethic and integrity to Burroughs. Over five years, he became an invaluable member of the team, leaving an indelible mark on the projects he undertook.
In 1985, a new chapter unfolded at Rockwell/Boeing, where Gary lent his expertise to projects involving the B1B and F22. His contributions were nothing short of monumental, reflecting his tireless dedication and his keen intellect.
While Gary's professional achievements were indeed noteworthy, it was his role as a husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother that truly defined him. His love and devotion to his family were palpable, providing a source of strength and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. Everyone who knew Gary knew they could depend on him , whether it was to fix a computer, a phone or anything electronic or even just to be there for them.
We bid farewell to Gary, as he reunites with his father Robert Dale Parks, his brother Lyn Stewart Parks, and daughter-in-law Jenny Parks. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service, embodied by his wife Donna, his sons Bobby (Courtney) and Brian (Jessie), his grandchildren Bryce, Leah, Brantley, and Presley, his parents Bonnie and Jim, his brother Ron, and his sister Sandy.
As we remember Gary, let us carry forward the lessons he taught us: to serve with honor, to love unconditionally, and to treasure the bonds that hold us together. He may be physically absent, but his spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives.
Rest in peace, dear Gary. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you.
