On Monday, September 6, 2021, Gregory Winslow Wilson was called home to be with God. He was born December 8, 1961 in Washington, DC to the late El Wilson and Dorothy Mae Tolbert Winston.

Growing up in Washington DC, Gregory was the third of five siblings. He attended DC Public Schools system and graduated from Ballou High school. When he was 7 years old, Greg drew a picture of a comic character out of magazine. His mother thought he traced the picture, so she told him to do it again and he did right in front of her. At that moment was the beginning of Greg drawing pictures as a hobby. Later,he found out that his middle name Winslow means “to draw”. He began to develop his drawing skills by using pictures from comic books, books, magazines and eventually live people. He created murals in his high school and other places as well. Gregory was known for his ability to draw and many people asked him to draw for birthday cards, celebration and even obituary. He also used his abilities to give support to his family.

Gregory loved his family, he was known as Uncle G, Baby bro and big/little bro. He would always help everyone to connect with each other, especially through facebook. Greg always felt that family is all we have and we should stay in connection to one another.

Gregory worked various jobs from fast food to contractual in the Federal government. In August 1986, Greg joined the U.S. Air Force as a firefighter where he did his basic training in Texas. Later the military service took him to Japan, Honduras and California where he resided. He currently was working as a supervisor with the Park and Recreation in Palmdale, Ca. He met and married his wife Karen while living in California who proceeded him in death. They had four children. He also had two children before he married Karen.

Gregory will truly be missed by his laughter and jokes. His love for the family and his artistic ability. Gregory leaves to cherish his memories 6 sons, Gregory of San Antonio, TX, Brandon of Maryland, Tony of Palmdale, Ca, Jamal of Houston, Tx, Travis and Rashad of LA, Ca; four sisters, Cassandra of Raliegh, NC, Darlene of Raliegh, NC, Tawana of San Antonio, Tx and Tatia of Washington, DC and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends.
