OBITUARY OF HENRY HUMFREVILLE
HUMFREVILLE, HENRY “HANK”, age 63, passed away at his home in Quartz Hill on December 22nd. He was the second son of long-time Lancaster residents, Daniel and Elinor Humfreville, and brother of Bill Humfreville who predeceased him.
Hank graduated from Quartz Hill High School in 1980, followed by four years at the University of Southern California, where he majored in business while participating as an oarsman and subsequent coach on the USC Crew team. He was also an active brother in the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, a legacy affiliation he proudly shared with his father, Daniel, his grandfather, Henry Humfreville, his brothers, Dan and Bill, and his cousins, Hank Marvin and Dr. Steve Marvin.
Following graduation, he returned to Lancaster and was employed as an agent with the Steven B. Marvin Insurance Agency where he served clients for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda, as well as her sisters, Susan, Mikki, and Barbara, his daughter, Colleen and her husband, Paul Liao of Ontario, daughter Nicole and husband Dwayne Adams of Laguna Hills, along with their children, Chad, Cooper and Carson, his son, Aron, and his wife Marichel Vaught of Vermont, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and John Peterson of Oakhurst, brother and sister-in-law Dan and Jody of Burbank, and sister and brother-in-law Mary and Mike Scott of Acton, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews and even great nieces and nephews.
Hank greatly enjoyed spending quality time with his family, traveling with his wife, attending USC football games, maintaining the family ranch in Quartz Hill, and volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister at the Father Junipero Serra Parish in Quartz Hill, providing the sacrament of Holy Communion to those unable to attend mass.
While Hank left us far too soon, the impact he had on his family and our community will be felt for years to come. Hank will be fondly remembered as a gentle, devoted, and providing husband, father, brother, uncle, and servant of his Lord.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, February 1st, at Father Serra Parish in Quartz Hill followed by a reception in the church hall. Private interment will follow at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. WWW.stjude.org.
