Ida Ruth Ketchum

KETCHUM, Ida Ruth was born November 15, 1940, in New Carlisle, Ohio, to Bessie and Raymond Davidson. She passed away peacefully January 28, 2025. Ida worked at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Facility at Edwards AFB, California, for 34 years, retiring in 2004. She married Richard Allen Ketchum in Peetz, Colorado in June of 1960 while he was stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. 

Volunteering with organizations honoring the troops was a passion for Ida. She was a member of the Antelope Valley Blue Star Mothers, Dog Tags for Kids, and she placed wreaths and luminaries on veteran’s graves at Lancaster Cemetery for Wreaths Across America. Ida is survived by sons Phillip (Tangee) and Brian, both of Lancaster, granddaughters Crysta of Lancaster and Sheyenne (Jared) of Phoenix, AZ, Sister-in-Law Alice Davidson of New Carlisle, OH, 1 great-grandson, and 9 step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 2 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandson.
