MOELLER, Kenneth E. Age 84, born June 25, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois to Rudolph and Mathilda (Gassman) Moeller. Ken passed away April 12, 2017, at home in the company of his family.
Ken spent his adolescence in Cicero, IL with his sister Dolores and widowed father. Ken entered the Air Force as a lieutenant and was stationed at March Air Force Base, Riverside, CA. Ken met the love of his life, Ann JaNien Mailloux, on a blind date in early 1958, and the two were married on September 13, 1958. Together they raised four children.
Ken left the active duty AF, joined the AF Reserves, and then retired as a colonel in 1985. As a civilian, Ken earned a degree from Northrop University and worked in the aerospace industry. Working for Lockheed, Ken flew in the SR-71 “Blackbird” as a reconnaissance systems officer, and later worked as an engineer for Garrett Air Research. Ken retired in 1994, but continued to serve the community performing volunteer work until 2016. Ken’s volunteer work included the public library, ten years as a foster child Court Appointed Special Advocate, and thirteen years with the California Highway Patrol Senior Volunteer program.
Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ann JaNien, his sister Dolores Joppa, and his brother-in-law Edward Mailloux Jr. Ken is survived by his brothers-in-law, Jacob Joppa and Milo Mailloux; four children, K. Brett (Arlene), Karen L., David E. (Marsha), and Michael S. Moeller (Nancy); seven grandchildren, Jaime, Steven, Alec, Eric, Kyle, Jake, Keenan; and two great-grandchildren, Donald and Santana Rose.
