Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Ken Shannon left this physical world to enter our heavenly world on April 18, 2023. Ken was born in Los Angeles, California on June 7th 1941 and spent his life living within L.A. county. Growing up he had a younger sister, Barbara, whom he adored. After high school he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was an MP for the Army and he spent time in France. He loved telling about those times that he had there, especially about the dog his unit adopted and named Lt. Fuzz. It was their mascot. When he left, he had to leave her there, while there, he wrote home to his then girlfriend, later wife, Diana.
Now Diana and Ken had two boys that were the light of their lives, Mike and Bobby. Ken enjoyed racing and watching races, mostly NASCAR and Indy. He later married Joan, whom he was with until he departed. Ken and Joan enjoyed being retired or semi-retired and traveled in their R.V. They also enjoyed the many grandchildren they both had between the two of them. They attended Quartz Hill Church of Christ for over 30 years together. Ken enjoyed gardening and he helped care for the grounds of the church.
Ken loved his 1927 T-bucket. He loved taking the grandkids in it during the local parades. He was a part of the High Desert Cruisers and enjoyed the cammraderie between everyone and the shared love of old cars. He worked as a Sales Manager for Arrowhead Press for over 20 years. He was a funny jokester and he loved to tell his
stories.
His stories and jokes will be sorely missed. His smile, which would make anyone feel at ease, will be missed. His companionship and his many phone calls regarding technology will be missed so much. We love you Ken (Dad, Grandpa, Papa Ginger)
