Larry was born in Keokuk, Iowa in 1949. He spent his youth in Hawthorne California, where he attended Leuzinger High School. He enrolled in the United States Air Force in 1968 where he trained as an aircraft mechanic. He served his country for 4 years, during which he spent time in Vietnam as an F-100 Crew Chief in the 615th Tactical Fighter Squadron. He received The Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service and was Honorably Discharged in June of 1972. Upon his return, he became the father of two children and began his employment with Lockheed in Burbank California. When Lockheed moved their operations to Palmdale, Larry moved to the Santa Clarita Valley and eventually the Antelope Valley, where he bought his home in Lancaster. During his career, he provided support and service for many aircraft, including the F117, and was part of Lockheeds Advanced Development Program, Skunk Works. He thoroughly enjoyed his work and had an appreciation for the aircraft he worked on and would discuss as much as he could with those who shared that interest. He retired after an amazing 42 years of employment in 2015.
In his adult years, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his family at Twin Lakes, one his favorite spots in the Eastern Sierras. He loved watching football and baseball, with his favorite teams being the Angels, Chargers, Cowboys and most recently the Rams. Another of his favorite destinations was Laughlin, Nevada where he would often meet up with family and friends for gaming, dining, and live entertainment.
He is survived by his brother Daryl, sister Sheryl, son Jeff and daughter Lesley.
