Leonard Robert Thompson (Bob) passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday August 2nd, 2022, in Lancaster, CA. He was born on July 4th, 1929, in Ogden, UT to Claudia McCune Thompson and Cordon Hardy Thompson. Bob graduated from Glendale High School class of 1947/1948. Following graduation, he served in the US Army in South Korea during the Korean Conflict. After the war he married Elaine Lund on May 7th, 1954, and just recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. After living in the San Fernando Valley in the early years their marriage, they eventually settled in Simi Valley where they raised six children. They eventually moved to the Antelope Valley after retiring from the Los Angeles Unified School District as a carpenter supervisor. Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and found joy in helping others with his generous spirit and willingness to serve. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Norma, Mac, LuDeen, Betty, and their spouses as well as four grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Elaine Lund Thompson, his children Robert L Thompson (Lolly), Richard C Thompson (Laura), Lisa Ann Thompson-Boudreau (Shawn), Ronald E Thompson (Teresa), Rodney D Thompson (Danielle), and Laurel Carroll. He is survived by 26 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John Thompson (Mary) and many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at 10:00am on Friday August 12, 2022, with the service to follow at 11:00am.
