On June 18, 2017, Lupe V. Caballero peacefully entered eternal life, at home surrounded by loving family members. She was born in February 1922, in Nacozari, Mexico and immigrated as a child to Douglas, Arizona. She assumed her lifelong, selfless care-giving quality early on when, at the age of 17, she became orphaned and accepted responsibility for her three younger sisters.
She later married Albert Caballero and relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she raised her own family and enjoyed a fulfilling career with the Los Angeles Unified School District. She loved to read and listen to music, especially Mariachi.
In addition to being a nurturing sister, supportive wife, and compassionate mother, Lupe was a devout Catholic. She found strength in her sincere, personal relationship with God and the Blessed Mother Mary, and she leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years and two children. Her spirit continues to live in the hearts of her seven children, 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
