Lutier “Lu” Francis Bole passed away peacefully at her home, on March 28, 2018. She was born December 8, 1938 in Newton, Massachusetts to Raymond and Laura Bernard. Much of her childhood was spent moving from state to state. In 1953 her family moved to California and in 1960 she graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s College located in Los Angeles, California with Bachelor of Science Degree. Lu had her first teaching job in Salt Lake City Utah in 1965. In 1967 her and her first husband moved back to California where she taught Earth Science for 28 years at Alamitos Junior High located in Garden Grove, CA. Lu married her second husband and the love of her life, Paul Bole on June 30th, 1979. In the summer of 1993 they bought a house in Green Valley, California. January 1994 she retired from GGUSD and both of them moved to Green Valley, California permanently. Both Lu and Paul became very involved in their little mountain community and dearly loved their new home.
Lutier was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Laura Bernard; her beloved husband, Paul Bole; her brother, Raymond Bernard; and sister, Florence Mathewson; a daughter, Kathryn S. Bole. She is survived by her sons, Clyde R. Baxter of Green Valley, CA and Paul E. Bole, of Coeur d’Alene, ID; a daughter, Laura L. Eslinger, of Garden Grove, CA; Nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A niece and two nephews. She is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.
