Luvern Sorensen

LuVern Merlin Sorensen – Born in Yankton, South Dakota on September 4, 1940 and went to be with The Lord, His Wife Diane, and Grandson Jason on January 1, 2018. Proud Navy Man and then graduated from Bible Baptist College in Springfield, MO. Served as Missionary in Tokyo, Japan and then Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Palmdale, CA. Retired from the Lancaster School District and co- owned Hair Country Beauty Supply.
Preceded in Death by his Father Matthew Sorensen, Mother Pear Sorensen, three sisters, wife Diane Sorensen, and grandson Jason Sorensen.
Survived by his children Rebecca and Son in Love Odie Atchison, Roberta and Son in Love Gabriel Chillous, Terry and Daughter in Love Misty Sorensen, and Rhoda Sorensen and Son in Love Sean Oliviero.

Grandmother to Matthew, Jessica, Tyler, Adam, Tommy, Jason, Tasheon, Jonathan, Evan, and Gavin. Great Grandfather to Jayden, Domani’k, AJ, Jayla, Victor, Juelz, Charlotte, Jeramy, Yolanda, Jasper, Jypsy, Tanner, Jayden, Serenity, Jayla, Callie, Bryson, Hayden, Siera, Courtney, Catrina, Caitlyn, and special Grandpa to Jasmyne.
Dad loved his family so much and would do anything for family or friends. Our foundation was The Lord. A true Godly man, even witnessing to all who came over the last few months. He loved Southern Gospel Music and his beautiful voice singing praises to God, will be missed. He loved South Dakota and visited as much as he could. He was surrounded by love of his children and the five dogs Sattchan, Lil Bit, Tink, Scooter, and grand dog Nibbler.

We have blessed assurance we will see him again, even though we miss him so very much.
