On Saturday, January 29, 2022, Manuel L. DeGuzman, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife Enriqueta, brother Romeo, sisters Maria and Theresa, children Joseph, Jeffrey, Gerry, David, Christopher, and MaryAnn, and 10 grandchildren.
Manuel was born in Manila, Philippines to Luis and Salud DeGuzman. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Far Eastern University in Manila and worked in Aerospace and Manufacturing industries throughout his career. On January 26th, 1971, he married Enriqueta Macapagal. Together, they raised sons, Gerry, David, and Christopher, and daughter, MaryAnn.
Manuel had a passion for the culinary arts. As the family chef, he cooked and baked for family meals, parties, and holiday celebrations. He was a devout catholic and active member of his parish. He loved music and dancing, and he especially valued spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, dependable brother, supportive father and grandfather, and a loyal friend.
The viewing is scheduled for Thursday, February 24th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, with a eulogy and prayer service at 6:00pm, at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Mortuary in Lancaster, CA.
The funeral mass will be held at Saint Junipero Serra Parish in Lancaster, CA on Friday, February 25th. Immediately after the funeral mass, a lunch reception will be provided at Gino's Ristorante Lancaster West. 44960 Valley Central Way, Lancaster, CA 93536.
A private mass for immediate family only, followed by entombment, will be on February 28th at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
