Margarita Colato Zamora was born in a humble town where she did not have the opportunity to go to
school, but she learned to read and write by herself with her own effort. She learned how to sow and
she became a great dressmaker. To her children she designed the clothes they wore. She was a designer
of children and adult clothing.
She went to the town of San Salvador and fell in love with a man who she chose as the father of her
children.
She was a hard-working woman, a fighter, brave, a tireless traveler who traveled around by bus, plane,
train, boat, and came to an unknown country where she adapted to Mexican customs. She came to the
United States where she became a citizen in the year 2000.
Until the end she was a strong woman, a fighter, and never gave up until the last moment and left
honorably. She was surrounded by much love from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
