Maria Guadalupe Barocio, known as Lupita by her loved ones, passed away at home surrounded by her immediate family. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother to two beautiful granddaughters. Like Wonder Woman, she valiantly fought Leukemia.
Lupita was born in Michoacan, Mexico to Josefina and Ismael Lopez on October 15, 1970. She married Antonio Barocio in 1990. The couple immigrated to the United States the following year and welcomed their first daughter. They had three daughters - Carina, Lupita, and Joanna - and a son, Eduardo. The family lived together in the Antelope Valley for over 20 years.
Lupita worked full time at Novacap, now known as Knowles Corporation, for 28 years. She was an employee of Knowles until her passing.
She enjoyed all of her adventures from the forest of Yosemite National Park to the farmlands of Michoacan. Lupita underwent her battle with Leukemia at City of Hope Hospital in Duarte from May to November. With every passing day at City of Hope she inspired all with her wonderful smile, she lit up every room she went into. The incredible staff at City of Hope and Lupita worked hard every single day to fight her Leukemia. Lupita also inspired other patients to continue their fight with their cancer. She encouraged the hospital staff to continue caring for their patients.
Lupita’s memorial services will be held at Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations on November 16th and mass will be held at her local parish, Saint Marys, on November 17th.
Lupita is survived by her Husband, children and granddaughters.
The Barocio Family thanks everyone for their condolences at this time.
