Maria Luisa was born Maria Luisa Lopez on May 27, 1942 to Beda Mora and Alejo Lopez in San Bernardo, Durango, Mexico.

Maria Luisa entered the Kingdom of Heaven on January 4, 2018 in Long Beach, CA, United States; she was 74yrs young.

During Maria Luisa's lifetime, she traveled extensively throughout Mexico emigrating to the United States at 12yrs old via El Paso, Texas where she continued traveling west to California and north to Washington. She grew up abroad experiencing life in different states and it was during the 1960s when she returned to Texas that she met her future husband, Ricardo M. Renteria, in El Paso.

She became Maria Luisa Renteria when she and Ricardo moved to the Antelope Valley where they married on June 16, 1962 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster, California.
Maria Luisa made her home in Lancaster for 63yrs raising a family of six children and working in the local area. She was actively involved in the Sacred Heart Parish and became the first president of the Cofradia de Guadalupe, Saint Guadalupe Club.

She also valued the importance of education and self-educated herself at home as well as enrolled at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster. She studied and completed her nursing course to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse and later took aircraft maintenance courses. This resulted with her changing careers once she was hired as a Structural Mechanic in the Aerospace Industry. She worked on high-profile projects such as the Lockheed-Martin Skunkworks, the SR-71 and Boeing 747 aircraft, the Space Shuttle and B-2 Programs in Palmdale and Los Angeles, California, and included Seattle, Washington.

Maria Luisa was preceded to Heaven by her son Arturo J. Renteria and is survived by her husband of 56yrs: Ricardo M. Renteria; 5 children: Alejandro L. Renteria, Antonio A. Renteria, Veronica C. Renteria-Farkas, Ricardo L. Renteria & Xavier L. Renteria; 1 son-in-law, 5 daughters-in-law, 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Maria Luisa was a loving Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and second Mom to many people over her lifetime. She came from humble beginnings and taught us that no matter the circumstance, hard work, perseverance and integrity will reap many successes in our own lives' journeys. She leaves behind a long legacy of love and we carry her spirit within us and towards the new generations. We Miss You Mom/Grandma, May You Rest In Peace!
