Mary Aguirre

Born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, one of seven children born to Walter and Mary Goethel. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in Washington, D.C., then worked in Santa Ana, California where she met her husband, Alex H. Aguirre. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Alex, Daughter Jeanne Fleming and grandson, Stephen Aguirre.

She is survived by her brother, Walter Goethel and his wife, Marlene, children: Annette Aguirre (Mark Freitag), Patricia Aguirre (Tom Turner), Jim Aguirre, Raymond Aguirre (Karen), Mary Volio, Elizabeth Broskoff (Chris), and Robert Aguirre, as well as 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mary and Alex were active in Sacred Heart Church, the VFW and American Legion, all in Lancaster. Mary loved to do crossword puzzles, play Jeopardy, loved trying new recipes, and had a “grand” sense of humor.
