Mattie Wright

Mattie Sue (Freeman) Wight was born to Glover and Pearl Freeman on May 7th, 1930, she was the oldest of 15 children and she worked in a cotton mill. At the time it was owned by Callaway Mills who made Linen and Rugs, it is now owned by Miligan. She came to California in 1950 where she met a young man by the name of Joseph Wright, they were married on December 24th, 1950 and they had 4 children: Joseph and three girls Teresa, Jeannette and Joann. They lived in Lawndale, Inglewood CA, Hawthorne and Torrance before moving to the Antelope Valley in 1963.

She was always a wife to her husband and a mother to her children, Her children attended school here in the Antelope Valley. She lost her husband and father of her children in June of 1968, she did a good job raising the children alone, all her children graduated from high school. After the girls were married and left home, her son was still in school, she got involved in helping and caring for other people who needed help. She was also involved with different organizations here in the Antelope Valley at the Senior Citizen Center, Meber of the friend ship bingo, treasure of The Visually Handicap Group, Member of Aucoa, FOTC, Nutrition Bingo.
All anyone had to do was ask. Sue was ready and willing to help in any way she could. If someone wanted to go out of state, she was willing to drive any ware. She never refused to help one minute in any way. Proceeded in Death by Joseph wright, Glover Freeman, Pearl Traver, Brothers James Leon Freeman, Benny Freeman, Billy Freeman and a sister Ann Heath, neices Kathy Hamilton, Susan Hamilton, Anita Freeman and a nephew James S. Freeman. She is survived by here 4 children Joseph Wright of Lancaster, Jeannette Isles of Lancaster, Joann Mc Minn of Lancaster and Teresa Leiker of Fresno CA.
3 Son-in-laws John H Isles the 3rd, Ron Mc Minn, John K. Leiker and 1 daughter in law, Francine Wright.

Curtis of Clovis CA, Jean Mc Lain of Fresno, Brandy Wright of Lancaster, Jerry & Moniquie Bell of Lancaster, Kenneth Carson of Lancaster, Jason Regello of Riverbank CA, Michael Regello of Riverbank, 4 adopted grand kids: Christopher, Matthew Breanna and Mary Mc Minn

Great Grand Children: William M. Leiker of Fresno CA, Samual Curtis, Kylke Curtis of Clovis and Arthur Mc Dowell of Santa Rosa CA, Gregory Wright of Lancaster CA. Jasmine, Eddie, Jerry (Bubba) Steven, Tryston, Natalia, Franny, Lisa, Neuach, Little Moniquie, Sammy Bell all of Lancaster CA.

Also 4 sisters Minnie, Margaret of LaGrange GA, Mildred of Carrollton GA & Jeanett of South Carolina, Brother John Thruer of Pine Mountain GA, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, Great neices and nephews.
