Michael Habib Michael, beloved husband, dad, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away at home in Lancaster, CA surrounded by his wife and family on August 18, 2023.
Michael was born on July 18, 1948 in southern Egypt to Habib and Nesma. He was the second of six siblings and the firstborn son. At the age of 14, Michael made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Saviour. In 1979, he graduated with a degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Assuit in Egypt.
Later that year, he was introduced to Aida Rizk, and the two corresponded between Egypt and California for over a year before Michael immigrated to southern California. They were married on September 5, 1981. Michael’s lifelong love was his wife Aida. Devoted to one another for 42 years, their life together was filled with memories of travel, laughter, and family.
Michael was a committed Christian and devoted member and deacon of Lancaster Baptist Church. His greatest wish for those he came into contact with was that they would also come to know the true love and forgiveness found in Jesus.
Michael enjoyed his work as a pharmacist for Los Angeles County Hospital. Colleagues remember him as a dedicated and knowledgeable professional who approached his work with skill, compassion, and a smile.
Michael's memory lives on through the wisdom he shared, the care he showed, and the laughter he created. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and kindness that will always be remembered by those who knew him. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, let us take comfort in the knowledge that because of his faith in Jesus Christ, He is in the presence of his Saviour.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Aida, their daughters Amanda (Trevor) Linder, Sarah (Andrew) Browning, and his grandchildren Graham Browning, Logan Linder, Reese Browning, Hazel Linder, and Lewis Browning. Michael is also survived by his 5 siblings; Nadia (Nabil) Bakhit, Mark (Ghada) Michael, Sohair Michael, Salwa (Wagih) Barsoum, and Monir (Salam) Michael.
A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on Monday, August 28, at 11 a.m. at Lancaster Baptist Church. The service will also be streamed live at lbclive.tv.
Though he may be physically absent, the impact of Michael's life will forever echo in the lives he touched. He is united with his Lord, and may his family find solace in the cherished memories they shared together and the day they will be reunited with him.
