Milton Ward Garland Jr., Age 88, passed away peacefully September 7th in Lancaster, CA. Ward was born December 11, 1929 in Waynesboro, PA, the son of Milton and Florence Garland. He graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1948, later moving to California to study aeronautics at Cal-Aero Technical Institute in Glendale. Ward was a U.S. Army veteran, serving honorably with the occupational forces in Japan after WWII. He was a small business owner for over 35 years, first with Fullerton Air Parts and later LP Aero Plastics West. Ward was actively involved with Formula One air racing for many years, and a fixture at Reno and most other air races throughout the country. He loved flying and all things aviation, and was a member of the Quiet Birdmen. Ward enjoyed all types of motorsports, as well as collecting and restoring classic motorcycles and cars, riding motorcycles and spending time with all of his many animals over the years. He was an avid LA Kings fan since their inception in 1967.
Ward is survived by his three sons Scott (Susan), Chris (Maya) and Bryan (Judy), grandchildren Nick, Logan, Makayla, Janelle and Anisia and his beloved yellow Labrador, Bonnie. The family requests any donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of choice
