Nancy Jean Houle

Nancy Houle passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on March 4, 1942, in Burlington, Vermont, Nancy devoted her life to her family, her faith, and helping others.

Nancy was married to Ray Houle for 61 years. As a military wife, she followed him across the country, raising their three daughters—Karen, Lori, and Anne—wherever life took them. She was a proud homemaker and cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A lifelong Catholic, Nancy was deeply committed to her church and always found ways to give back. She remembered every birthday, milestone, and detail about the people she loved. Holidays were her favorite time of year, and her home was always a place of celebration, not just for family but for anyone who needed a place to belong—even their pets.

She loved trips to Las Vegas, playing the slots, and surprising people with thoughtful gifts. Shopping was one of her greatest joys, and she could always find just the right thing for everyone. Her kindness and selflessness made her the heart of her family and a joy to everyone who knew her.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Walker Morris and Rita Marie Landry; her sister, Karen Mullen; and her daughter, Lori Newton. She is survived by her husband, Ray; her daughters, Karen and Anne; her grandchildren, Meagan, Torin, Sydney, Samantha, and Abbey; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Madison, Raegan, and Korbin; and many friends and loved ones.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Nancy will be deeply missed.
