Norma Jean Carnahan
Born April 13, 1925 in Urbana, IL. passed away peacefully January 10, 2016 in Lancaster, CA. Norma came to live in the Antelope Valley with her husband in the late 1950’s. Gerald “Jerry” Carnahan Sr. worked at Rockwell/Boeing in Palmdale until 1989.
Norma is survived by her sister Rosalie Gozdowiak of Siletz, OR, her eldest son Brent Roberson of Mohamet, IL, daughter Sherry LeGault and husband Ernie of Fernley, NV, and son Gary Carnahan and wife Debbie also from Lancaster CA. Norma was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was also loved by her niece Rebecca Bosquez, Diana Meyer and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Gerald, her youngest son, Patrick and her daughter in law Judy Roberson.
Norma was a 36 year member of Women of the Moose and she was a Gold Circle Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW both here in the Antelope Valley. Norma and Jerry were members of the Palmdale Camper Club for many, many years.
Her fondest recent memory was having many friends and family members gather at her 90th birthday party last April. She was often comforted in her later years by the verse from Philippians 4:13 “ I can do all things because Christ gives me the strength.” She enjoyed this so much because 4/13 was her birthday.
There will be view/visitation from 9:00am to 10:00am with a service at 10:00am at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Mortuary, 44831 Cedar Ave., Lancaster, followed at 1:00pm by a short grave side service at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 220 East Ave S , 220 East Ave. S Palmdale, CA 93550Palmdale.
