OBITUARY
On Hong 79 of Lancaster, California, passed away on Friday February 2, 2018, peacefully in his sleep. The funeral service will be held at 9AM on Friday February 9, 2018 at 2042 Avenue K7, Lancaster, California (661) 341-8943 and (661) 341-8788. Khmer Buddhist monks will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 9AM on Monday February 12, 2018 at Haley-Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations 44831 North Cedar Avenue, Lancaster, CA 93534- (661) 810-3582. Cremations will be on Monday 12, 2018 at Haley-Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Haley-Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations.
On Hong was born in Kokor village, Kokor commune, Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, on November 10, 1944 to Mr. Eamty Hong and Mrs. Samreth Nim. He graduated from Kampong Cham High School, and continued on to receive trading, training and vocational schools at USSR and the Republic of Philippines, ie. IRRI (International Rice Research Institution) and a degree from Cambodian School of Technology & Sciences- Techno, Phnom Penh City, Cambodia.
On Hong was married to Mrs. Say Kim on November 1963. They were married 55 years. On Hong last position as the Director of Agribusiness Center of Cambodia at Tunle Bati town with the Ministry of Agriculture for more than 45 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, outdoor activities and spending time with his friends and family. He was also actively involved in volunteering for many years and was dedicated member of the agronomy and agribusiness research with NGOs.
On Hong is survived by his six children with Mrs. Say Kim,two sons and 4 daughters fourteen grand-children, and five great-grandchildren, his six siblings and he’s the fourth child of seven brothers and sisters; his nieces and nephews and the rest of his relatives and friends. The best things about my father, he worked very hard for his siblings, children grandchildren friends and relatives.
