The patriarch of the King family, Perry Ronald King Sr. passed away on November 11, 2023, at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving wife of 56 years Nancy King by his side.
Perry loved his God, his country and he loved to serve his fellow man. Perry was a devout Catholic and humble member of the “Knight of Columbus” where he held many positions; the last of which he was Marshall for the central California area. He served in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class. He faithfully served in politics as a delegate to the DNC for Jimmy Carter, and worked alongside Los Angeles City Councilman Robert Farrell for many years as Deputy City Councilman, where the two of them became life-long friends. He served as vice-president of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) for more than 10 years.
Perry Ronald King Sr was born in Chicago, IL and was the eldest son of Leo and Doris King who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his two brothers, Michael King and Leo King Jr. Perry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Nancy, his four children Michelle Small, (Atlanta, Georgia) Perry R. King Jr. (San Marcos, Ca) Tiffany Lee (Lancaster, Ca) and Christopher King (Los Angeles, Ca); his 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and the many extended kids that called him dad, which was anyone that walked into his house.
A special thanks to Graceful Palms Hospice and specifically Yasheika Brown for your gentle care of our loved one.
