Ray Wilson Smith

August 17, 1930 — February 28, 2025

Lancaster, CA

Emblem

Ray was born in Lubbock, Texas and served in the US Army as a Corporal in the 77th cavalry during the Korean War in the Artillery Division, and received the Bronze Service Star.

Once he left the Army he came to California and this is where he met his wife, Helen. They had five children, Robert, Katy, Bud, Suzie, and Deborah.

Ray began work as General Contractor with his brother Franklin Smith, he hung drywall and painted new homes for 55+ years in the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas.

His collection of vintage cans and bottles (which he dug up himself) was one of his favorite hobbies.

He was loved by many and everyone would feel as if they were one of his own, as he would greet them with open arms and a heart full of love.

He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, extended family, and all that knew him.
