Obituary of Rayola (Raye) B. Mindock
Rayola B. Crouch was born on September 5, 1938 in Arcola, Indiana. Her parents were James A. and Belva M. (Dunlap) Crouch. Her siblings were K. Paul Crouch and James A. Crouch Jr. (deceased). Raye was the youngest child.
She graduated from Arcola Grade School, Arcola, IN in 1952.
She was in Indiana All-State Orchestra in 1956 as a bassoon player.
She graduated from Fort Wayne Central High School in 1956.
She married Thomas M.E. Mindock on June 16, 1956.
They had four children: Thomas of Peoria, IL (Sharon); Theresa Jones of Yuba City, CA (Chuck); Timothy of Coatesville, PA; and Traci Lefever of Mountain Home, ID.
She ran for Queensbury, NY town councilwoman in 1972.
They have four grandchildren and five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
They lived in Fort Wayne, IN; Easton, PA; Glens Falls, NY; Rock Island, IL.
They moved to Lancaster, CA in 1985.
She retired from Kern County Regional Occupational Program located in Mohave in 1997.
Raye was a devoted member of Beta Sigma Phi.
Raye loved growing hollyhocks, even in the desert.
Raye loved music and liked to attend concerts and liked to dance.
Raye was an avid artist and taught oil painting at Antelope Valley Community College after her retirement.
In their retirement, Raye and Tom enjoyed driving to visit their children around the United States.
She passed into the next life on January 1, 2020.
In lieu of flowers to the service, since we are all from out of town and flying back to various states (Idaho, Illinois, Pennsylvania), we are requesting donations made in Raye’s name to (1) AARC [the American Association of Cancer Research, and/or (2) ACS [the American Cancer Society].
