Our beloved Rebecca K. Kendall was born into this world November 25, 1955 to her parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Kendall in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the youngest of three children including her older brothers Richard and Robert. She stepped into the arms of her lovng Father on November 6, 2017.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Iowa and entered the field of Social Work. She moved to Los Angeles, Ca in 1982 to pursue her profession working for years with Beverly Enterprises in geriatric care and later moved into foster care working for Child S.H.A.R.E. Her compassionate heart for people and especially children eventually led to her being introduced to a very special three year old girl named Destiny. In 2004 Destiny and Rebecca became a family and began living and loving together in their home in Lancaster, Ca.
Rebecca and Destiny shared many adventures enjoying frequent trips to Iowa to visit family, annual Thanksgivings shared with friends in Clovis, Ca. and enjoying the ministry of Saddle Up Therapeutic Riding. Rebecca enjoyed watching Destiny learn to ride and work with horses.
Rebecca's hope of seeing Destiny grow into adulthood was interrupted by a battle with cancer. She is now cheering Destiny on from her vantage point in Heaven. Along with Destiny, Rebecca is survived by her brother Richard Kendall of Downers Grove, Illinois and many dear friends she so deeply loved.
A celebration of Rebecca's life will be held on Saturday, November 25 at 11 a.m. at Central Christian Church in Lancaster, CA. A reception will immediately follow.
