Ricardo Munoz Renteria was born on June 29, 1937 in San Diego, CA to Beatriz Munoz and Ricardo Colchado Renteria.
Ricardo entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 9, 2018 in Lancaster, CA, United States, at 81yrs young.
During Ricardo’s lifetime, he traveled with his father from San Diego to Los Angeles, CA, to Delicias, MX, then on to El Paso, TX where he attended El Paso High School and finally back to San Diego where he joined the U.S. Navy at 19yrs old. He proudly served his country from 1956-1958 as a Boatswain's Mate, Rank BM3, and there was never a more patriotic Veteran of Foreign Wars. When service to his country was over he returned to El Paso where he then met his future bride Maria Luisa.
Together they decided to return to Los Angeles and when the opportunity came to move to the Antelope Valley they took it. Ricardo married Maria Luisa at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster on June 16, 1962. They made their home in Lancaster for 63yrs raising 6 children. As life progressed he was involved in many community activities: he became a third degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2455, and a devout parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster. He was involved in the Guadalupe Club of Sacred Heart as well supporting Maria Luisa when she was the first president of the club. Ricardo was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts with his sons; was involved in sports with all his children and advocated education. He attended Antelope Valley College to further his career with the Los Angeles County Waterworks and became an inspector for the Road Elements Division, in Lancaster & Palmdale, CA. While raising his family he was also a Volunteer Fireman for Station 33 in Lancaster.
Ricardo was preceded to Heaven by his wife Maria Luisa, son Arturo J., & parents Beatriz and Ricardo Renteria and various siblings. He is survived by his 5 children: Alejandro L. Renteria, Antonio A. Renteria, Veronica C.Renteria-Farkas, Ricardo L. Renteria & Xavier L. Renteria; 1 son-in-law; 5 daughters-in-law; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Ricardo was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa/"Papitas", Great-Grandpa, Father-in-Law, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Cousin, Second Dad to many & a dear and loyal friend. We Miss You Dad - Soar to Heaven on Eagles Wings!
