Richard (Pop Pop) Allen Guldin Sr., a resident of Quartz Hill for over 45 years, passed away at age 84 on April 28, 2018. Born on September 30, 1933 in Reading, Pennsylvania, he spent his early years growing up in Pennsylvania, graduating from Boyertown High School in 1951 and Albright College in 1955. He later moved to California and was a Health Officer for Los Angeles County for 20+ years. Richard was the loving husband of Jean Gladys Sell. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores; and grandson, Robert Koyle III. Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Guldin, Jr. and Kevin Guldin; daughter, Andrea Randenberg; grandchildren, Jamie Borne, Chris Guldin, Kirk Guldin, Nadine Orbong, Joshua Randenberg, Jarrelle Ifield, Corey Randenberg, Grace Guldin, and Luke Randenberg; and great-grandchildren, Michelle Hess, Dillan Borne, Brooke Borne, Kaylynn Hess, and Gabriel Randenberg. Richard had a passion for growing and breeding roses. He was a deacon and a prayer group member. He was a Scoutmaster of Troop 599, Boy Scouts of America, an Advisor to Order of the Arrow, a member of American Rose Society and Chevalier, #2213 Knight Templar, and former president of Lancaster Youth Football and Palmdale Kiwanis
