The passing of Robert L. Neufeld or Bobert as many knew him as.
Born in Nebraska and moved to California with family in mid 50's.
Joined the army and ended up in Vietnam. Returned home after a few years and delivered papers, worked at the gas station until he made it into Lockheed and stayed there for 40 yrs. Did everything thing from windshield installation to tool crib to custodial. Retiring in 2012 he found himself still busy. Life member of VFW#3552 and American Legion #348. He did many memorial services and chaplain duties as well as color guard in local parades and events.
His favorite holiday was Veterans day he loved honoring those he knew and those he didn't. He made sure each one had a flag at their resting place on Memorial day, 4th of July and Veterans day. The lowering of the flags to half staff were another service he did for places around the AV.
If he seen a tattered flag flying and got permission to change it he'd find a replacement and put it up.
Yes a veteran that served his community for over 40 yrs and enjoyed it every time. He will be missed by many.
In his honor please no flowers do a donation for family, the VFW3552, American Legion 348 or Animal rescue Halfway to Home. He loved his nightly walks with Peanut who dearly misses him.
