Rodney Vincent Dominguez was a beloved son, brother and such a loving uncle. He was a courageous sailor who navigated a submarine and explored the world. He loved each person who had the opportunity to meet him. One of the most selfless, humble, honest, giving, loving and so many more beautiful characteristics a soul could only dream of having.
In his lifetime, he had retired from the United States Navy and was awarded The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, which was created in 1961 by John F. Kennedy. He was honored this medal for participation in a U.S. Military campaign. He was awarded two Meritorious Unit Commendation Medals for outstanding service, heroic deeds or valorous actions. A National Defense Service Medal was earned for military service in a specific period that was designated by the Secretary of Defense. The Good Conduct Medal was awarded for exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity in Active Federal Military Service. Three Sea Service Deployment Ribbons recognizing him for his military performance while stationed at sea.
And if life offered on medal, he would receive on for being such a rare soul that had the capability to spread happiness amongst others with just his laughter. He went from being a sailor who fought for our country into a true warrior for Jesus Christ. He lived his life and embraced each moment. He is a gift from God.
Uncle Rodney we aren’t exactly sure how or why this happened but we know you’re an angel watching over all who you loved and cherished. Thank you for one of the many gifts you’ve blessed us with; allowing us to see the light through the darkest trials we endure in life, just as you did in your lifetime.
Death is merely a graduation from life. So instead of saying farewell, we will see you later.
