Rosemary Hull

“Rosie”, age 77, Palmdale, passed away February 2, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born May 18, 1940 in Boston, Mass to John and Louise (Sheehan) Magner. She graduated from Braintree High School in 1957 where she was a member of the “Braintree Warriors” Drum and Bugle Corps Color Guard; she also played and lettered in basketball and field hockey. She then entered Lynn Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1960. She loved helping others and being a Registered Nurse. She worked at various hospitals and volunteered with the Red Cross as she moved from base to base with her husband in the Air Force. Rosie and her family moved to Edwards AFB in 1975. There, she worked at the Flight Surgeon’s office, her most exciting job as a nurse. She was an essential part of the medical response team for the Space Shuttle landings, the “Rocket Car” project in 1979 with Stan Barrett and Gen. Yeager, the world’s first land vehicle to break the sound barrier, responded to aircraft emergencies, and supported training as well as other programs in the Flight Surgeons Office. She became a trusted nurse and friend to many pilots and their families. She always cared for others first. Her grandchildren were her life after Edwards and she enjoyed nurturing them and spending time supporting them in their school and athletic activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved Aunt Gertrude Magner. She is survived by her husband John Hull; her three daughters, Kathleen Rowden (Lonny), Maureen Schrader, Colleen Littlejohn (James); Step-son, John Hull III; grandchildren, Gregory Goggin (Samantha), Michael and Jennifer Littlejohn, Tyler Wilber, and step-grand-children, Joy and Joanna; brother, John J. Magner (Nancy); first husband Robert L. Schrader; and numerous nieces and nephews.
