Sandra Alaniz-Frutos

October 23, 1980 – February 8, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Sandra Alaniz-Frutos, a woman whose light touched everyone she met and whose love left an indelible mark on her family, friends, colleagues, and students. Sandra passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 44 in Palmdale, California.

Born on October 23, 1980, Sandra’s life was a true reflection of love, perseverance, and kindness. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, daughter, sister, and teacher. Above all, Sandra's love for her family was the center of her world. She met her husband, Marcelo Frutos, in 2005 at Westmark School, and together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter, raising three wonderful children: Citlali, Marcelo, and Itzel. As a mother, Sandra found joy in creating a world of wonder for her children—celebrating their birthdays, sharing in their laughter, and loving them with everything she had. They were her everything, and she poured her heart into them.

Sandra’s impact extended far beyond her family. As a teacher, she inspired and nurtured countless students, sparking their imaginations and helping them realize their full potential. A proud graduate of Cal State University Northridge, Sandra’s passion for education was evident in all that she did. She didn’t just teach Spanish—she shared her love for culture and instilled confidence in every student she encountered. Her classroom at Antelope Valley High School was more than just a space for learning; it was a sanctuary where students felt seen, valued, and empowered. Her philosophy was simple yet profound: anything was possible through hard work, determination, and self-belief. Sandra had dreams of becoming a principal, aiming to make an even greater impact on the education system and continue inspiring others. But Sandra’s influence wasn’t confined to the classroom. Her warmth and kindness radiated through every interaction. Whether she was cheering on the Dallas Cowboys with her family, enjoying a cozy Christmas movie night, sharing stories from her children's lives, or preparing delicious family dinners, Sandra made everyone around her feel special. Christmas, in particular, was her favorite time of year. As soon as Thanksgiving ended, she would bring the magic of the season to life with festive music, decorations, and movies, ensuring every year felt like a joyful Celebration.

Sandra’s mornings were filled with simple, grounding moments—sipping coffee, savoring pastries, and planning her lessons, all while keeping up with the news in the background. These routines reflected her devotion to her family, her work, and her passions. Sandra’s faith was at the heart of everything she did. She lived with grace, striving to reflect Jesus’ love in her actions. She would often point out a “Jesus sighting” to remind her family of His presence in their lives.

Sandra leaves behind her loving husband, Marcelo Frutos, and their three beautiful children, Citlali, Marcelo, and Itzel. She is also survived by her parents, Francisco and Esther Alaniz, her brothers Frank, Alberto, Jesse, and Maclovio Alaniz, and an extended family and community who will forever feel the warmth of her love.

Sandra was truly one of a kind—beautiful inside and out. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit, her love, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to inspire all of us. Her passion for life, her unwavering kindness, and her faith will live on in every student she taught, every heart she touched, and every life she brightened. Sandra’s light will continue to guide us.
