Steven Michael Klenk-13 August 1963 to 25 September 2021
Steve was born and grew up in St. Louis County, Missouri. After graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School he took a job as an apprentice electrician and worked at that until the family moved to Croton 0n Hudson, New York, where he accepted a job with an electrical contractor and worked as an electrician. After a period of years, the family moved back to St. Louis, where he was employed by McDonnel Douglas (now Boeing) as an aircraft parts fabricator.
When he married Christina Thurmond he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and worked in construction. Upon the end of the marriage he moved to Southern California where he resided until his death. He and his friend Arlene Martinez lived in Lancaster, CA with their two cats and enjoyed membership in the VFW, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Sons of the American Legion.
In addition to being an excellent marksman, Steve enjoyed water skiing, sky diving (barefooted), scuba diving (encountered sharks), frisbee golf and being a part time guide on white water rafting trips. He was an avid reader appreciating classical literature, history and modern fiction.
Steve enjoyed cooking, and won trophies for his chili and ribs.
Steve is survived by his son, Josh Wiatt, his sister, Joanne Fountain, his half-sister Erika Fountain, his step sister Elizabeth Rajasingam, his step-brothers, Richard Bamber and Stephen Fountain, his father, George M. Klenk, his mother Marilyn Fountain and step-father Roger Fountain as well as by his nieces, Faith Rothkopf, Isabel Rajasingam and nephews, Emeka Fountain, Christopher Bamber, Joshua Bamber and Oliver Bamber.
