Doster, Susan E. was called home to the Lord on August 4 th , 2021. Born January 2 nd , 1950 to Otto and
Mary Giese Sue’s love of the Antelope Valley and the rural way of life was apparent at a young age.
From her days showing livestock at the Antelope Valley Fair to her years as Miss Palmdale, Wildflower
Queen, and a runner-up with the Miss California pageant she became active in her local community and
in politics. Sue married Lloyd Doster in 1971 at Lancaster Methodist Church; a love that would span five
decades. Lloyd and Sue were inseperable with a bond that only strengthened over time. Sue spent her
life in the service of others. As a consumate volunteer, donating countless hours to helping make her
community a better place, Sue espoused the philosophy that, “You may not be able to change the whole
world, but you can change your corner of it.” She would volunteer with the Palmdale, Lancaster, and
Littlerock Chambers of Commerce, the Keppel Union School Distrcit, the Little Miss and Junior Miss
Palmdale, Lancaster, and Littlerock pageants, the Junior Miss Antelope Valley pageant, the Antelope
Valley Women’s Shelter, the Special Olympics, the Antelope Valley Fair, the Pearblossom Duck Races,
Litterockers and Pearblossom Pioneers 4-H clubs, Alpine Grange, and the FFA Organization throughout
the valley. As a small business owner she created Doster Decorates, a wedding and special event
business, and Children of the World Pageants. And through it all anyone who knew Sue would tell you it
was her love of family and her faith that guided her. “I was a beauty queen, an opera singer, a business
owner, and a volunteer but the greatest of all was as a wife and mother. It was the greatest gift the Lord
could ever give me and I would not have changed that for the world.” Sue is survived by her husband
Lloyd and their four children Tammy, Rebecca, Christopher, and Mary Ellen; their spouses Jeff, Sean,
Stacia, and Nathan; their grandchildren Tori, Jordan, Bryce, Morgan, Hannah, Cody, Lucas, Maya,
Margaret, and McKenna; and their great-grandchild Easton.
