Obituary
Wayne Hoskins was born on May 26, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the parents of Sarah Mullens and Cluster L. Hoskins both from Alabama. Wayne left this life April 27, 2023.
While growing up in Cincinnati Wayne was known to his family and friends as a protector. At 10 years old he made himself a shoe shine box and walked and worked in different neighborhoods shining shoes to bring money into the household.
At 18 he joined the Marines and served our country in Vietnam for 13 months. It was during this time in combat he lost a portion of his hearing in both ears.
Upon returning to The U.S. Wayne married and divorced. From his first marriage he fathered a son, Michael Maurice Hoskins and became stepfather to Rhonda. During his last marriage he fathered another son, Wayne Solomon Hoskins.
In 1975 Wayne moved to California where he attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College learning electronics in telecommunications and where he met many people and best friend John (Mac) McFadden.
He was baptized and received the Holy Ghost at Greater Bethany Community Church in L.A. where he was a faithful member and usher.
He developed an avid love for roller skating and became so phenomenal when asked he declined to be in some commercials and movies. Even though Wayne was his own biggest fan he still had a very private side to himself. When he skated he was like the Pied Piper with children following and asking him to teach them how to skate while some adults watched and got jealous of his skating abilities.
February 1983 Wayne met Kebra at a gospel skate night and they were later married in September of that year.
Wayne was preceded in death by both parents (Sarah & Cluster), 2 sisters-Carolyn Pritchett (Jimmy) & Mattie Davis (Andre) and 2 brothers Kenny & Larry. Left to mourn his death are: his wife - Kebra, both sons-Michael & Wayne, sisters-Kathy (Jerry), Sandy & Angie, brothers Michael, Tony and Keke, many nephews, nieces, great nephews & nieces, cousins, aunties and many friends.
